Longville ambulance district reports revenue gains, warns staffing could drive larger subsidy request in 2027

Kevin Lee, EMS Relationship Specialist for North Ambulance, presented the Longville Area Subordinate Service District first‑quarter report. He said the district billed 90 patients during the quarter versus a budgeted 89 and that revenues were favorable by roughly $22,000 while expenses were favorable by approximately $8,000. Despite those gains, Lee reported the operating margin was negative 15 percent compared with a target margin of 10 percent and estimated nearly $200,000 in additional funding would be needed to break even without state assistance.
Lee reviewed response‑time metrics (17% within 10 minutes, 58% within 20 minutes, 88% within 30 minutes) and destination hospital data; he also reported that North Ambulance expects a merger with Sanford to be completed in July 2026 but does not anticipate changes to local ambulance services. Board members thanked North Ambulance staff and noted staffing concerns will drive future subsidy requests.
