County commissioners provided updates on Road and Bridge activities across Kay County during the April 27 meeting. Commissioner Shane Jones reported crews cut out asphalt holes, completed weld sheeting on a culvert on Prentice Road, repaired washed‑out culverts on Longwood Road, began spraying signs and bridges, drove roads, and cleaned up storm debris.
Commissioner Jason Shanks said his crews performed spot blading, gathered materials, and moved trees and will resume blading once roads dry. Commissioner Jeff Kreger reported hauling sand and shale to roads near Tonkawa and Nardin, district‑wide blading, mowing ditches southwest of Blackwell, storm debris cleanup in Braman, and servicing shop equipment. The Board used these updates to inform project and procurement decisions later in the meeting.
