A county workgroup convened with a local funeral-home director to review the County Burial Plan and recommended multiple updates, including raising various maximum allowances, separating paperwork for traditional burial and cremation, and indexing future annual increases to the Consumer Price Index rather than a fixed percentage. Commissioners voted to approve the proposed modifications on June 17, 2025.
Workgroup members said separating the forms should make the process clearer for families and county staff, and indexing increases to CPI is intended to better keep pace with rising costs. The board recorded the approval in the meeting minutes.
