Nobles County approves $49,065 fraud-prevention grant, hires specialist and signs care-coordination contract

Nobles County’s Community Services announced a Fraud Prevention Investigation Grant for $49,065 that will fund a newly created Fraud Prevention Specialist position. Community Services Director Stacie Golombiecki said the county refers roughly 200 suspected-fraud cases into the system each year and that an in-house specialist will help prevent and reduce large-scale fraud claims. The board approved the grant agreement at the June 17 meeting.
Separately, the board approved a contract with Collective Medical Technologies, Inc. to enable county staff to use PointClickCare for real-time transition-of-care notifications required by contracts with PrimeWest, Blue Cross Blue Shield and UCare. The Department of Human Services has approved and will fund the county’s usage of the software, according to the minutes.
