Huachuca City schedules April work session to explore annexation north of town

The Huachuca City Town Council on March 26 approved scheduling a work session to study potential annexation of land along Highway 90 north of town and in the 400–500 blocks of Lower Huachuca City. Town Manager Suzanne Harvey asked the council to direct staff to evaluate the costs of extending services, gauge property-owner interest and weigh benefits to existing residents; the council agreed to meet April 2, 2026, at 6 p.m.
Harvey said the staff analysis should include service-extension costs and citizen interest, and Mayor Johann Wallace said the meeting will allow the council to "really get into it and see what we are looking at." The direction was given as a study-session scheduling decision rather than an ordinance or immediate commitment to annexation; staff will return with findings at a later public meeting.
