County funding for volunteers rises; A.C.E. & R.S.V.P. presents annual update

Joanne Bartosh, Nobles County Program Manager, presented the annual A.C.E. & R.S.V.P. update to the board on June 17, 2025. Bartosh said Nobles County appropriated $55,725 for 2025 to support volunteer-related services; the appropriation increased from $53,050 in 2024 and $49,707 in 2023.
Michelle Baumhoefner, Executive Director who administers southwest Minnesota offices from Slayton, joined the presentation. Commissioners heard that the program functions as an economic-development tool by connecting volunteers with local needs and that county funding has increased in recent years to sustain and grow those services.
