Town Manager Suzanne Harvey described the fire-engine request as a Community Facilities Program (CPF) submission asking for $1.3 million toward a ladder truck; Harvey said the total purchase is expected to be about $1.5 million with a local match of roughly $200,000–$300,000. Harvey said she submitted the request to Congressman Juan Ciscomani’s office and asked permission to also submit to Senator Mark Kelly to increase the town’s chances of receiving federal support; the council approved submitting to both and prioritized the ladder truck over the water-meter request.
Council discussion noted that replacement is tied to maintaining the town’s Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating and that procurement and federal funding timelines could extend across fiscal years. The motion to approve the submissions and prioritization was moved by Johann Wallace, seconded by Christy Hirshberg, and passed unanimously.
