County OKs interim permit for temporary storage containers at Chisago Lake property

Chisago County commissioners on May 20 adopted Resolution No. 26/0520-4 approving an Interim Use Permit (IUP) for property owner Lynette Regenauer to retain multiple temporary storage containers at 14545 310th St. / CSAH 37 in Chisago Lake Township.
The resolution authorizes placement of no more than four 8' x 20' containers for a duration exceeding one year, conditioned on setback and screening requirements: a minimum 200-foot setback from the north property/CSAH 37 right-of-way, 20-foot side-yard setbacks (to be achieved within 60 days where noncompliant), and a 75-foot ordinary high water level setback. The containers must be anchored pursuant to the Minnesota State Building Code within 60 days, remain free of rust, holes and peeling paint, not obstruct water flow or cause flooding, and are subject to annual certification. The permit expires when the property is no longer owned by Regenauer and is nontransferable; the holder must remove containers upon expiration.
The Planning Commission recommended approval with findings of fact and the Board adopted the IUP by unanimous vote after considering planning staff presentation and the application materials.
