At the May 19 meeting the Traill County Economic Development Commission approved several routine financial actions. Mark Duncan moved to approve the April 21, 2026 minutes; Ken Nesvig seconded and the motion carried. Deputy Director Alyssa Short reviewed the April 2026 financial reports; Cassie Braaten moved to approve the treasurer's report, seconded by Jami Hovet, and the motion carried. Short presented the list of bills for payment; Vicky Grothmann moved to approve the checks, seconded by Dawn Flaten, and the motion carried.
Later in the meeting, the board formalized a recurring administrative practice. Jim Murphy explained that the office typically issued checks for approved grant projects provided documentation met grant guidelines; Jami Hovet moved to allow TCEDC staff to issue checks via billpay for approved grants, Cassie Braaten seconded, and the motion carried.
