Commission approves new medical examiner contract after staff report on duties and fee increase

Plant for medical examiner services, replacing a previous arrangement administered through Mattress Medical Group. "The medical examiner does, respond to all suspicious deaths and, you know, unexpected deaths," county counsel said when explaining the work the examiner performs. Commissioners discussed previous contract amounts and noted that the fee had been increased in the past year; after brief discussion the board voted to approve the contract by voice vote.
