Council approved Item 24-062 to purchase ten (10) Taser conductive electrical weapon systems (CEWs), fourteen (14) body-worn cameras, and to renew expired CEW warranties, with a total not to exceed $25,457.69.
The motion was moved by Councilmember Richard Schmidt and seconded by Councilmember Ruby Foster; the vote was unanimous. Police Chief Kevin Digou earlier noted the department is fully staffed and recently hired two multilingual crisis-intervention-trained officers, and the equipment purchase was presented as part of routine public safety procurement.
