City wins $180,000 SS4A award, $500,000 RTP programming and selection for ULI mTAP

The City of Chattahoochee Hills announced several grant and program wins during the Dec. 5 council meeting that staff said will support transportation safety, trails and tourism planning.
Economic Development Director Chris Montesinos said the city "was awarded $180,000 for a Transportation Safety Action Plan through the Safe Roads and Streets for All (SS4A) program" and that "$500,000 in federal/state funding should be programmed into the TIP in February of 2025" as the final stage of an RTP grant. Montesinos also said the city was selected for ULI’s 2025 mTAP to focus on a Rico Crossroads housing masterplan and that staff submitted a GEPC application to translate a 2020 tourism study into a destination marketing and tourism strategic plan.
Montesinos said inclusion of the city’s trail network in the safety plan creates an additional avenue for federal funding for trail implementation. Councilmembers and staff praised recent grant success and noted the city will serve as grant administrator and project manager for the RTP project.
