The Floyd County Conference Board approved the proposed 2026 budget following a public hearing at 5:05 P.M. on April 1, 2026. Chairperson Gloria Carr opened the hearing, which received no public testimony and was closed at 5:06 P.M. Mayor Charlie Newman moved to approve the budget as presented; Supervisor Frank Rottinghaus seconded and all voting units voted in favor.
The vote came during a regularly scheduled meeting at the Floyd County Emergency Operations Center. The School Board voting unit did not have a quorum and did not participate in the roll call; the Board of Supervisors and Mayors voting units had a quorum. Mayor Jeff Buland joined the meeting by Teams after the budget was approved.
