Board hears updates on print-shop access, buzzer policies and security film for campuses

Business services reported the print shop reopened in a new location within the J Building and that the district has restricted access to prevent free movement from the print shop to campus. "The print shop is back up and running in its new location, in the the J Building... there's also fences that prevent anyone who comes in through that gate to gaining access from the rest of the campus," Mr. Esselin said.
Board members asked how staff and customers would safely access the shop and whether buzzers or an electric buzzer system would be installed. Staff explained the Campus Drive gate is locked and visitors must be let in; access into surrounding buildings is fenced and locked so visitors reach only the print shop for now. "The gate from Campus Drive is locked. And so they have to be let in," Mr. Esselin said, adding the district is evaluating longer-term buzzer setups.
On broader site security, facilities staff described plans to add security film to public-facing glass to slow forced entry and provide time for occupants to react, calling it a delay measure under active consideration for multiple sites.
