The Arcadia Unified School District governing board adopted three ceremonial resolutions during its April 14 meeting.
Dr. Hirish presented the California Day of the Teacher resolution and recommended approval of Resolution No. 252621 designating May 13, 2026 for recognition. Mr. Chung moved adoption and Mr. Eng seconded; President Chavez called for the ayes and the motion carried.
Dr. Hirish also introduced Resolution No. 252622 designating May 6 as National School Nurse Day, noting district nursing staff and LVNs by name and recommending the board celebrate their contributions. Mrs. Vargo moved adoption and Mrs. Yee seconded; the board approved the resolution by voice vote.
Mr. Eng read the district's Autism Acceptance Month resolution (No. 252623), which noted increasing diagnoses and co-occurring conditions and affirmed the district's commitment to inclusive practices. "Now, therefore, be it resolved by the governing board of the Arcadia Unified School District that the month of April is to be designated as autism acceptance month," Mr. Eng read before moving the measure; Mr. Chung seconded and the board adopted the resolution unanimously.
