Council members closed a public hearing and approved a rezoning request to allow individually built hangar homes on a set of remaining lots in a development near Arrow Country Airport.
Lucas Raley, the city's director of planning, said the request aligns with a previously approved nearby zoning and that the change updates prior planned development (PD) allowances to permit single‑family hangar homes. The applicant's representative from Texas Development Services said the remaining lots are preferred as single‑family hangar homes and that access to the runway will be indirect "through the interior road system" and taxiways. No members of the public signed up to speak on the item.
Councilmembers moved to close the public hearing and approve the staff recommendation; the motion carried. Staff said the rezoning is intended to match land‑use approvals already granted to adjacent lots and that the change should cover the remaining buildable lots in the subdivision.
