Berrien County Treasurer Shelly Weich reported to the Finance Committee that 3/31 is the last day for taxpayers to pay their 2025 property taxes without them being delinquent. She said she visited 11 local jurisdictions to meet with residents and work out payment plans; according to the minutes, the number of late properties dropped from 1,949 to 438 after that outreach.
The Finance Committee discussed county investment work with Meeder Investments and other finance items. The treasurer’s outreach and the reminder of the 3/31 deadline were highlighted as part of the committee report to the full board on March 26, 2026.
