City Attorney Michael Thai presented a purchase agreement and deed for the sale of city-owned Lots 2 and 3, Block 2, Tech 0.25 Subdivision to Shamrock Data LLC for $1,355,000. Thai said the buyer intends to build a compact tier-3 data center in a roughly 30,000-square-foot building that would use approximately 4.99 megawatts of electrical power initially, with potential expansion to about 15 megawatts on roughly 15 acres of buildable ground.
Council members asked technical questions about cooling and leasing options. A representative from the developer was present to answer technical questions. The council adopted Resolution 2025-103 approving the purchase agreement and then passed Ordinance 87-61 to authorize the deed of sale; the purchase agreement includes a one-year right of first refusal allowing the city to repurchase the property at the purchase price if a building permit is not obtained within a year of closing.
