Wadena County approves temporary $500,000 transfer to Sheriff's budget

Commissioner Bill Stearns moved to approve the transfer, with Commissioner Murlyn Kreklau seconding; the motion carried unanimously. Olson said $250,000 will be transferred back to the General Fund after the first tax settlement in May and the remaining $250,000 after the second tax settlement in November. The board did not treat this as a formal budget amendment but described it as accounting housekeeping to bridge timing of levy receipts.
