Commissioners approve consent agenda, budget transfers and transfer trailers to Avery County
Summary

The board moved through the consent agenda, approving the Nov. 4, 2024 minutes, the FY24–25 senior center funding packet and a set of flood mitigation awards. The board also approved designation of an application agent for a flood mitigation assistance program.
Finance staff requested two budget transfers: moving funds from Fund 27 to the General Fund to cover business and personal property tax work and transferring $12,993.67 from IT telephone funds to cover additional Munis/Tyler maintenance fees. Commissioners moved and approved the budget amendment on voice vote.
Staff recounted that four donated trailers were repaired, outfitted and transported to Avery County for disaster relief; volunteers from the local fire department provided labor and materials. The board voted to transfer titles to Avery County and to recognize the volunteers with certificates.
The appointments to regional bodies (Peanut Belt Rural Planning Organization and Rural Transportation Advisory Committee) and the nomination of Sheriff Tyrone Ruppert as a representative were moved, seconded and approved during the meeting.
