Historic Commission asks council to solicit archaeological on-call services for city sites

Allison Duncan, speaking for the Historic Commission, asked the council to authorize a request for qualifications or proposals for on‑call archaeological services for city‑owned historic properties. "I'm Allison Duncan. I'm a member of the Chattahoochee Hills Historic Commission," she said, and described the work as exploratory subsurface work to determine feasibility before any new construction or footprint expansion.
The commission proposed forming a cross‑functional panel including members from the parks commission, CVB, planning board and the historic commission to craft recommendations and conduct an open, public process. Allison emphasized there is no budgetary commitment at this time and that any specific work would return to council for a budget amendment.
