City explores RightSite telehealth partnership to reduce low-acuity ambulance transports

Council reviewed a proposed agreement with RightSite to pilot telehealth evaluations when Chattahoochee Hills responders arrive on scene for low-acuity calls. Staff explained the model: responders would connect patients via phone or laptop to RightSite clinicians who could perform an evaluation, provide prescriptions or referrals and potentially avoid ambulance transport to a hospital.
"There is no cost to the city," staff said while describing the contractual model, adding that RightSite would collect costs from insurance or Medicare when applicable and would provide training to local responders. Council members asked how patients would be informed and how insurance coverage would be explained; staff said RightSite and the city would train personnel to explain the option to patients and emphasized that responders would remain on scene until a clinician determined further care was required.
