Windmill Point project wins state award; county details parks construction timelines

County parks staff then provided a multi‑site update. John (county parks staff) walked the board through progress photos and timelines: Taylor Creek Park marine improvements are tentatively scheduled for August–September 2026, with building and landscaping completion projected for October–November 2026; Carter Cove broke ground July 17 with a substantial completion target of February 2027; and the county will advertise the Chesapeake Trail Park invitation to bid on Aug. 13 with a target to award a contract by the September board meeting. Staff noted Lancaster County received $2,100,000 in Transportation Alternatives funding tied to Bridal Trail work and related project acceleration.
