As part of the LCAP discussion staff presented the federal addendum used to apply for federal Title I'IV funds. Anderson explained the addendum covers Title I, II, III and IV and that private schools must be offered the opportunity to participate in federal funding processes; he noted that most local private schools opt for Title II or IV rather than Title I or III because of the compliance requirements.
Anderson said the district qualified for Title III immigrant funds this year and added language describing how those funds will be used to support new immigrant students. "We wrote the section on what we were gonna do with those immigrant funds and our plans to support our new immigrants," he said, adding that the addendum will be posted with the LCAP on the district website after board approval. The board approved the federal addendum by voice vote.
