Board adopts Arcadia Unified's 2026'27 LCAP, adds two actions for English-learner supports

District staff presented the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) for board authorization and described the plan's five broad goals, 20 associated actions and 94 measures.
"We have 5 broad goals with 20 associated actions, 94 measures or metrics," Director Anderson told the board, and he highlighted two new additions for the 2026'27 plan: Goal 3 action 9 (reduce student-adult ratios in English-learner courses) and Goal 3 action 10 (mini-grants for schools using learning recovery emergency block grant funds). Anderson said those additions were recommended by the LCAP advisory and align with the district's focus on MTSS and student supports.
Board members asked clarifying questions about the three-year cycle and whether goals or actions were likely to change at the next LCAP update; staff explained that goals tend to be stable across three-year cycles while actions and measures can be adjusted based on advisory input and data. The board moved and approved the LCAP for 2026'27 by voice vote.
