Superintendent Ingrid Colvard reported that facilities work at the SHS/WRMS campus will begin with ducting, boiler and window projects after a WRMS construction grant was moved to that campus. She said a subsequent pending grant, if approved and funded, could permit installation of a chiller or air conditioning, and noted a plan is still needed to handle heat at CES.
Colvard also briefed the board on enrollment and staffing. "Initial enrollment as of last Friday (September count day) is very close to projections that were used for the budget," she said, adding that October counts are typically more stable and are relied upon for final budgeting. At the elementary level most classes remain under size limits; Transitional Kindergarten has only one section, and staffing is "just about where it needs to be."
