The Kearney City Council approved items 1 through 16 on the consent agenda and passed routine business items on Oct. 28. A council member moved to approve the consent agenda; the motion was seconded and the roll call recorded approval.
During the regular agenda a motion to approve an open-account claim to UNK eMarkets was moved, seconded and approved; the transcript records one abstention by Strautman on the roll call. Later in the meeting, a council member moved that the council adjourn into closed session at 6:25 p.m. "for the protection of public interest to discuss contract negotiations."
