Kearney council approves ordinances including up to $10 million for fire-hall bonds

The Kearney City Council voted to pass three ordinances on Oct. 28 after suspending the requirement for three readings. Ordinance No. 87-67 authorizes issuance of public-safety tax anticipation bonds with a principal amount of up to $10,000,000 to construct a new fire hall, purchase a fire engine and public safety equipment and pay related costs.
Ordinance No. 87-68 adds Article 32 (Small Wireless Facilities) to Chapter 3 (Business Regulations) of the city code. Ordinance No. 87-69 repeals Ordinance No. 87-62 and amends the salary ordinance. The council moved to suspend the three-day reading requirement, read the three ordinances by number only and voted to pass them as provided by law.
