Yates County approves millings distribution policy and raises price for extra loads

County highway staff told the committee June 1 that all county road milling work is complete and that crews have moved millings to storage sites and started screening and crushing.
Doug Rapalee asked the committee to authorize the traditional allocation of 10 free loads of millings to each town and village; the committee approved that request. He also requested raising the price charged to towns and villages for additional milling loads from $100 to $175; the committee approved the increase. Rapalee said the county began moving a substantial volume of millings to two sites and thanked towns for assistance in material handling.
The committee also approved a separate request allowing the Yates County Fairgrounds to receive five loads from the Guyanoga pit to build parking near the 4H building.
Rapalee said vehicle sales at the Central Garage did not meet anticipated revenue but that the shortfall will be covered by a $9,000 surplus; he asked for authorization to proceed with replacement vehicles.
