Rogers County approves rezoning for fence-company site in Claremore

The Rogers County Board of County Commissioners approved a zoning change for property at 19905 S. 4080 Rd., Claremore, from AR (Agriculture-Residential) to C-4 (Commercial Central Service District) during its May 11, 2026 meeting. Planning Commission Director Missy Richardson presented Case #2670, noting that "the intended use of the property, after rezoning, is for a fence company office and future commercial use." The planning commission had recommended approval by a 5-0 vote.
No members of the public spoke for or against the request during the public hearing, which the board opened at 9:25 a.m. and closed at 9:30 a.m. Commissioner Steve Hendrix moved to approve the zoning change; Commissioner Dan DeLozier seconded. A roll-call vote recorded DeLozier-aye, Hendrix-aye and Chairman Ron Burrows-aye, and the motion carried. The approval is contingent on any standard permitting or site-review conditions the county requires for commercial development.
