At the end of the Feb. 3 work session, council voted to convene an executive session under Colorado statute CRS 24-6-402(4)(b) to receive legal advice, discuss positions related to negotiation strategy and address personnel matters. The clerk explained the matters to be discussed would include interviews and negotiations regarding a new city attorney and the city manager review and contract talks; the executive session will be recorded and the recording retained by the clerk for at least 90 days.
Councilor Sam moved to go into executive session and Councilor John seconded the motion. The council conducted a roll-call vote and all present voted yes to convene the closed session. The chair noted the executive session would convene downstairs and the meeting would adjourn from that location when complete.
