The board accepted an unsolicited $10,000 donation to the Sheriff’s Office to purchase equipment for the Watertown Township satellite office. The acceptance was made consistent with Section 6.4.3 of the Clinton County Donations Policy.
Separately, the board approved up to $56,000 to replace a patrol vehicle declared a total loss, noting an expected insurance settlement of $30,116.67; the board also increased the vehicle equipment/upfitting budget by $45,000. The board approved the Resolution Imposing the 2026 Summer Property Tax Levy pursuant to Public Act 357 of 2004, certifying the county-allocated millage at 5.7288 mills after the Headlee reduction.
The board also considered a FOIA appeal and voted to grant the appeal in part and deny it in part, per the proposed letter in the agenda materials.
