Board approves EAAS interlocal agreement and $80,000 digital paging budget amendment for Central Dispatch

Central Dispatch Director Chris Collom presented two related items: an interlocal agreement with Eaton Area Ambulance Service (EAAS) to enable a records-management interface with Central Dispatch's CAD system, and a budget amendment plus RFP authorization to transition paging from legacy VHF to digital paging on the Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS).
Collom said EAAS will assume implementation and ongoing costs for the interface and will be invoiced by Central Dispatch for startup and recurring charges while operating in Clinton County. The board approved the interlocal agreement and authorized the Administrator to sign the document.
On paging, Central Dispatch requested an additional $80,000 (increasing the project from $260,000 to $340,000) to account for updated vendor pricing and tariff-related charges; the board approved the budget amendment and authorized issuance of an RFP to solicit digital paging proposals.
