Stevenson-Carson board adopts 2025-26 budget after presentation

The Stevenson-Carson School District Board of Directors voted June 30 to adopt the district’s 2025-26 budget by approving Resolution 25-26/1. The motion to adopt the budget was made by Lisa Birney and seconded by Mark Chambers; the motion carried.
Kathy McKee, the district’s Director of Fiscal Services, presented the proposed budget and reviewed the 2024-25 general fund balance, revenues and expenses, capital projects, transportation and ASB funds. McKee also presented enrollment comparisons and a four-year forecast of revenues, expenditures and levy revenues. During discussion Superintendent Ingrid Colvard said the district would "wait until the last possible moment to transfer the capital project money in case we don’t have to do it," and McKee said board approval was the only action she needed "to move forward with the state."
The minutes record voucher and payroll details included on the consent agenda: several voucher batches across general and ASB funds and May payroll of $859,584.86 and June payroll of $862,151.89. The board held a public hearing on the budget and invited comments; none were received in person or online. The budget adoption allows staff to complete the state filings required to implement the 2025-26 spending plan.
