Overlook project moves toward May ribbon cutting; Governor event eyed for July 8

Bill Bridges told commissioners that drawings for the overlook cement pad have been received, bids are out, and a ribbon cutting is planned for May 21. Bridges said officials are coordinating an America 250 event that the Governor is expected to attend on July 8, hosted by BLM and Idaho Power; 250 flags have been purchased and permits for a ticket booth and food stand were paid that morning.
Bridges said staff plan to implement a QR‑code entry/payment system at the county RV park in a couple of weeks and intend to begin charging entry at the overlook in June. The Board asked about logistics and timing; Bridges will report back as the project moves toward the ribbon cutting.
