Porter board approves buried fiber agreement with Fidium Enterprises Services

The Town of Porter Board of Trustees on April 27 approved an agreement allowing Fidium Enterprises Services, LLC to install buried fiber infrastructure within town limits along 413th East Avenue. The board approved edits requested by the company and set payment terms of 30 days from receipt of invoices; the motion passed unanimously.
Town Attorney Terri Craig prepared the draft agreement for the board to review. Kerry Wiggins, identified in the minutes as the senior manager for the company that will install the fiber, reviewed the draft and requested two minor changes: replacing the name "Consolidated Communications" with the company’s legal name, Fidium Enterprises Services, LLC ("FES"), and specifying payment shall be due within thirty (30) days of receipt of the invoices listed in the agreement. Trustee Norma Meyer moved to approve the agreement with those changes; Trustee Lucas Beaty seconded. The recorded vote was yes from Mayor Steve Dickey, Norma Meyer, Lucas Beaty and Kevin Walker; the motion carried.
The special meeting was brief. Mayor Steve Dickey moved to adjourn after the agreement vote; the motion, seconded by Trustee Norma Meyer, carried and the minutes record the meeting as adjourned at 6:20 p.m. Shirley Herring, the town clerk, and Mayor Steve Dickey signed the minutes.
