Cory Merritt told the Board that last year’s Peach Festival "worked out well, so everything this year is about the same as last year," and Melanie Merritt said the Lions Club will provide a bus to transport people from parking areas to downtown. The Merritts asked whether people could park at the red barn; Jackie Todd told the Board that "the red barn is rented during the Peach Festival" and suggested a cleared parcel at the southeast corner of Hale Avenue and First Street could be used for parking. Mayor Steve Dickey said the town could install an entry to that land to allow parking and that the Town would cooperate with the Lions Club as needed.
The Board also reviewed an existing resolution to close streets during the Peach Festival but did not take additional action on street closures at this meeting. The Board addressed festival logistics (parking and shuttle service) and deferred any formal street-closure changes beyond the standing resolution.
