Porter to negotiate agreement as Consolidated Communications proposes buried fiber for Google

Mr. Kyle Lane, appearing on behalf of Vytal Digital Infrastructure and Consolidated Communications, described plans for a buried fiber line that will pass through Porter as part of a Google project running from Pryor/Neosho to Muskogee. Jackie Todd told Lane the line needed to be bored down to 3 feet deep; Lane agreed and said the company planned to provide $2,300–$2,600 to cover rental of required equipment and to rent a track hoe for a week to help remove remaining stumps.
Attorney Terri Craig recommended a written agreement that would guarantee access to the equipment if weather or other delays required rental beyond a week. The Board moved to authorize the town attorney to prepare an agreement incorporating the discussed stipulations and to place the draft on a special meeting agenda for consideration.
