During public comment, Bob Arnold identified himself and raised concerns about a Fulton County proposal he described as a "major tax increase," asking what the city council intended to do in response.
"Fulton County is proposing a major tax increase," Arnold said. The mayor replied that he had drafted a resolution asking Fulton County not to raise residents' taxes and that he would read that resolution later in the regular council meeting and potentially place it for consideration at a following meeting.
Council members encouraged residents to attend county hearings and noted that the city could formally request that Fulton County reconsider or modify any proposed county-level changes that would increase residents' bills. The mayor's planned resolution was described as prospective and would be considered in a future council agenda rather than decided at the hearing.
