Resident urges limits on 18-wheelers and asks for lane at Technology Circle
Summary

During public comment, resident Leo Geary asked the council to reduce large-truck traffic on Technology Circle and requested a lane addition where Technology Circle meets Johns Creek Parkway to handle traffic expected from the Medley development.
"I have 2 requests. 1 is to... eliminate or at least very much minimize the number of 18 wheelers on Technology Circle," Geary said, describing nighttime noise and heavy vehicles using the residential street as a cut-through. He also asked whether petitions or additional information would be helpful; staff encouraged him to meet with the city manager and said he had already submitted a letter.
Why it matters: Technology Circle is primarily residential and residents said truck traffic and nearby commercial development increase safety and noise concerns. The resident asked the city to take a proactive approach before traffic patterns become entrenched.
What’s next: staff asked Geary to meet with the city manager to review his letter and suggested staff follow up on potential traffic mitigation or design solutions for the intersection.
