City staff briefed the committee on upcoming event outreach and fund-raising opportunities. "All applications are currently open for Diwali... those will be due September 26," Ms. Gaston said, urging members to share the Eventany links with potential performers, vendors and sponsors.
Staff also described trunk-or-treat (Wednesday, Oct. 22) and noted the event is operated in partnership with the police department; fees and in-kind sponsorships benefit the Public Safety Foundation. Staff emphasized that trunk-or-treat requires prepackaged candy and that vendors should prepare ample supplies because the event serves thousands of families in a few hours. The artist registry and 1% for art program were also discussed as ongoing recruitment tools for local artists and arts programming.
Members asked for digital copies of sponsorship flyers and staff agreed to circulate a PDF and a GiveButter link to simplify sponsor outreach.
