City staff summarized the Juneteenth event as very successful, citing an estimated attendance of about 2,500 people over the course of the day and high vendor sales. "The estimated attendance is 2,500 attendees over the course of the event," Ms. Gaston said, calling it the largest turnout in recent years.
Staff noted two operational opportunities for improvement: additional food and beverage vendors and adjustments to vendor layout to avoid congestion near the stage and entrance. Staff also reported a sponsorship reconciliation: after final budget review, an extra $500 sponsorship was located, bringing the total to $8,050. "After they did the final budget reconcile, they caught that, oh, there's a $500 sponsorship that we didn't account for," Ms. Gaston said.
Committee members shared practical suggestions — adjusting tent placement, providing shade, and coordinating rideshare pickup zones — and staff agreed to consolidate feedback for planning next year.
