Council weighs bike parking versus vehicle spaces for Armory/Connor Park plan

Council members asked whether bike racks could be removable seasonally to reclaim parking in winter; staff said that possibility merits further design work. Members also expressed concern about the net loss of roughly 10–11 parking spaces downtown but many favored the parklet and increased bike infrastructure if the design can preserve necessary short‑term vehicle access and service loading. The team asked council for direction on the balance between on‑site vehicle servicing, ADA needs, and long‑term bicycle storage as they finalize the land‑use application.
