Aspen swears in local officer Carla Enriquez

Carla Enriquez was sworn in as a police officer for the City of Aspen during the council's Jan. 14 regular meeting. Mayor Tory administered the oath of office; Enriquez responded, "Do solemnly affirm that I will support the constitution of the state of Colorado," and later thanked APD leadership for the opportunity.
"First and foremost, thank you to Chief Kim Ferber and Linda Conseurgan, everybody at the APD, for giving me this opportunity and welcoming me into the family that is APD," Enriquez said, adding she was born and raised in Aspen and is "forever thankful" for the chance to serve her home community. Mayor Tory praised the department, saying it helps the city feel "safe, secure, and...very welcoming." The swearing-in was followed by brief council and audience acknowledgement.
