Johns Creek mayor addresses ethics complaints, pledges transparency

Mayor Bradbury opened the July 28 council meeting by saying two ethics complaints had been filed against him this month and that he would make the documents public. "I take ethics very seriously and appreciate the ethics rules," he said, adding that he would post the complaints online for residents to review.
Bradbury described one complaint as relating to late campaign finance disclosures and a second — filed by Council member Skinner — alleging $635.64 in mileage reimbursements for city business outside Johns Creek. The mayor said the reimbursements were approved through the city's multi-tiered process and that he will address the filings with the state ethics commission. City attorney (speaker 8) told the dais that any formal decision by the body should be handled at the appropriate time and venue rather than debated during the opening remarks.
