Jackson County highway superintendent opens contract paving bids; lowest bid $1.69 million

Highway Superintendent Jerry Ault opened contract paving bids at the Jackson County Commissioners meeting on March 3 and announced grand totals from four firms. Bids reported were: Dave O'Mara — $1,688,580.00; All-Star Paving — $1,757,534.25; Libs Paving — $1,944,965.50; Milestone Paving — $2,096,627.80.
Commissioner Drew Storey moved to take the paving bids under advisement so the Highway Department can review them in detail and return a recommendation at a future meeting; Commissioner Andrew Stauffer seconded the motion and it carried 3–0. No contract award or contractor selection was made on March 3. The Highway Department will evaluate bids for compliance and scope before presenting a recommendation to the Board.
