Commissioner Andrew Stauffer moved the motion to wind down operations; Commissioner Drew Storey seconded it and the motion carried with three yes votes.
The board recorded that DCS (Department of Child Services) will determine the date of closure and that current staff have agreed to remain until the wind-down; employees wishing to stay with county government have contacted HR director Jeff Hubbard for reassignment assistance. The County did not specify an exact closure date during the March 3 meeting. The decision was procedural—no additional funding or replacement services were authorized at the meeting.
The Board thanked Banks for his 31 years of service to the Juvenile Home. The next procedural step noted in the meeting was coordination with DCS on timing and personnel transitions.
