Middle school adds Outdoor Adventures, secures $500 donation for shoes; students enter CWU competition

Middle School Principal Trisha Roach told the board the MS is one-third of the way through the year and has added Outdoor Adventures programming including hiking and cross-country skiing. She thanked high school shop students and maintenance staff for building and installing new signs, described MS participation at Teen Kitchen at the CCC, and announced the MS received a Culture Kick Start Award from AWSP & AWSL for fall family engagement events.
Roach also said teacher April Cole had signed her 6th-grade science students up for the CWU NW Earth and Space Science Pathways Artemis Roads III National Student Challenge Competition; and she reported that the American Legion donated $500 to help students who needed athletic shoes. The MS band and choir will perform a winter concert Dec. 7 at the high school commons.
