Pratt County says federal SLRF funds closed out; business expansion and PCC president announced

Heather Morgan delivered the county’s economic development update, saying "Pratt County has officially received notification that the SLRF federal COVID funding has been fully closed out," marking completion of the program. She told commissioners a local business has submitted a Pratt Area Economic Development Corporation grant application tied to a planned expansion expected to create about 10–15 professional positions over the next three years.
Morgan also reported that the owner of the company that purchased the former Woody’s building will provide a redevelopment update at the PAEDC monthly meeting Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. In a separate announcement during the same update, Morgan said Dr. Carl Smalls has been selected as the next president of Pratt Community College and is expected to arrive in Pratt the following week to begin full-time at the start of the academic year.
