Court renews scrap-metal and inmate-pharmacy contracts, accepts donations and approves cooperative purchasing

The court moved to renew two county contracts: RFPPC-24-41 (sale of scrap metals) awarded to GameTex Industries was found eligible for a one-year renewal covering 06/01/2026 through 05/31/2027, and RFPPC-24-44 (pharmaceuticals for inmates), awarded to IHS Pharmacy, is eligible for a one-year renewal from 07/01/2026 through 06/30/2027. County staff reported both vendors expressed interest in renewing on original terms and conditions; motions to renew were made by commissioners and the court approved them by voice vote.
The court also accepted a donation of leftover ammunition from Tri County to the Parker County Sheriffs Office after staff explained the donation came from a charity event. Commissioners approved an annual authorization to use cooperative purchasing contracts for supplies such as radio equipment and technology, citing procurement-efficiency benefits. Staff added an additional scrap pile to an online surplus auction running May 11 through May 22.
